New MSI notebooks with brisk graphics and Blu-ray

The MSI Notebook GX640 and GX740 series let players hearts beat faster. In them come with the ATI Mobility Radeon 5850 and 5870, the fastest DirectX 11 graphics solutions for notebooks.

Depending on configuration, there is the 15.4-inch notebook, the GX640 and GX740 with 17-Inch Core i5-430M or Core i7 720QM, up to 8 GB of DDR3 memory and 500 - or 640-GB hard drive. The display resolution is the same for both: 1,680 x 1,050 pixels (16:10). Standard is a DL-DVD burner. MSI equips some models but also with a Blu-ray combo drive.

Apart from size, there are few differences. While the GX640 with an ATI Mobility Radeon 5870 (1 GB GDDR5 works) and no fewer than five speakers for gaming surround sound comes, the GX740 with an ATI Mobility Radeon 5850 (1 GB GDDR5) and works from stereo speakers.

In addition, both MSI-notebook with a 2-megapixel webcam, gigabit LAN, WLAN n, Bluetooth, Firewire, eSATA, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA, HDMI and a 9-cell battery (7,200 mAh are) configured. Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) and a mouse are also included in the package gamblers.

The MSI GX640 is coming in March at prices starting at around 1,050 euros, the GX740 from about 1,100 euros on the market.
