iPad HD: Professional Tablet with Retinal Display in Autumn?

An increasing number of sources report that Apple is planning for the fall, a new iPad. However, it should not be yet at the iPad 3, but a significantly improved version of the iPad 2, which is specially targeted at professional users.

retinal-display

Although the iPad 2 sold well, one of the biggest criticisms has always been the resolution: 1,024 x 768 pixels are significantly less than competitors offer the honeycomb. On the 10-inch display that resolution of the iPad corresponds to a pixel density of 132 pixels per inch. The HD iPad contrast, should offer 250 to 300 ppi, which would amount to double the pixel density. In conversation a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels, so it is basically a retinal display for the iPad.

The analyst Craig Berger says that Apple has been mounting, with some display manufacturers and exploratory talks could begin production soon. According to Berger, the HD iPad would then be in stores in the fall. 2 that the iPad was not made from the beginning with this retinal display, should be that the supply situation of the panel was too uncertain. To avoid unnecessary delays in production, so Apple had initially decided to stay with the old display.

Professional pre-installed software
Besides the hardware to the next iPad but also the software are the focus. Supposedly the iPad HD is primarily aimed at professional users and therefore offer mobile editions of image and video programs, Aperture and Final Cut Pro. The software is apparently supposed to be preinstalled on the iPad already.

The extent to affect the display and the new pro-apps on the price of HD iPad is not yet known. Berger, however, assumes that the next Apple iPad not be sold, if the current model 40 to 45 million were sold. This assessment also speaks for a launch towards the end of the year.
