Intel X25-M: New-Generation Solid State Drive
Intel has unveiled the third generation of its Solid State Drive series X25-M is not the technical specifications are yet has already become known: the chip maker uses for the flash memory 25-nm manufacturing process and could, therefore, the capacity of the SSD to up to 600 GB increase. The largest model of the 2nd Generation stores up to 160 GB.

Second advantage of the 25-nm process: the speed of the SSD is improved. Data reads the new X25-M reportedly up to 250 MByte / s (previously also 250 MB / s). Stored but the information is almost twice as fast as its predecessor: 170 MB per second is to make the new Intel product - the 2nd Generation managed up to 100 MByte / s.
According to data available to the Techblog were leaked to Anandtech, but will increase the electricity consumption of the flash drives, the maximum power consumption is therefore at 6 watts - twice as much as its predecessor.
To report on the prices of new models, there is currently no data appear, the SSDs in the first quarter of 2011.
